Having, from the very beginning, a clear conception
and a clear mission, the Faculty of Public Administration has developed
continually, and it has acquired attributes of uniqueness and expertise,
which are unanimously acknowledged, as our faculty is involved in the
fundamental processes that support the social reform which is being
experienced by Romania.
If, in the earliest stage of its existence, the faculty
aimed to redefine the traditional concepts and practices in the
public administration, now its efforts are oriented towards the
promotion of a greater openness to the problems which are specific
to the public sector and towards a courageous and professional
approach to the attributes of the new European administration,
towards which we are heading in view of Romania's integration into the
European Union.
Therefore, the faculty is outlining a new mission,
to which the teaching staff, the students and the secretarial and administrative
staff alike are summoned to contribute.
In the recent years, the beneficiaries of our programs
have been increasingly numerous and diverse: students at full-time
or distance-learning education, public servants and elected officials
from the central and local administration, as well as employees from
the private sector.
I won't be referring here to our educational offer,
neither will I outline the academic content or the expertise that we
possess. You will find all these in the materials and documents below.
I can only assure you that , through all we
do, we support professionalism in the public administration, we
assist the present and future public servants to conceive and achieve
their career plans, and we contribute to the substantiation and operationalization
of the public administration reform.
Our efforts are now directed towards the national
andEuropean academic recognition, towards the adjustment of
our teaching content and practices to the European ones, which
are famous for their expertise in the field of education and training
for public administration.
The public servants and public employees' mobility
is a characteristic feature of the European public office and, consequently,
our faculty is engaged in a complex national and European dialogue,
which materializes in the promotion of and participation in numerous
cooperation and partnership projects in the fields of teaching,
research or simply academic management.
These arguments make me believe that your option, present
or future, for the programmes offered by the Faculty of Public Administration,
is entirely justified and it corresponds to your own interests.
Without fear of being wrong or of being accused of
lack of modesty, I assert that we are the TRAINERS OF REAL
PROFESSIONALS in the Romanian public administration.
